    • To suppress a temperature-rise in and to improve the quality of a bus bar when a desired width for the bus bar is not ensured, a bus bar is formed by stamping from a conductive metal plate of a predetermined thickness. The bus bar is configured to be included in an electric junction box for installation in an automobile. The bus bar includes a main bus bar formed by stamping from a conductive metal plate according to a circuit pattern and an auxiliary bus bar that is laminated and firmly fixed at a location on the main bus bar where the main bus bar cannot be stamped with a desired width. The auxiliary bus bar is fixed to the main bus bar, for example, by welding, to form an integrated combination. At the welded portion of the integrated combination, the width of the main bus bar or the width of the auxiliary bus bar is no greater than other portions.

    • An optical disc controller for an optical disc drive playing optically a first information storage medium and a second information storage medium having a higher storage density than the first medium. The controller includes: a rotation control section for controlling a rotating mechanism rotating the media; an equalizer for removing first frequency range components from an RF playback signal, obtained by irradiating each media with light and detecting reflected light, and amplifying second frequency range components; and a phase locking section for generating a sync clock signal to do synchronization detection with a digital playback signal obtained by digitizing the output of the equalizer. The rotation control section rotates the media while controlling the rotating mechanism such that RF playback signals are obtained at first and second transfer rates. The maximum playback frequency of the RF playback signal obtained from the first medium at the first transfer rate is substantially equal to that of the RF playback signal obtained from the second medium at the second transfer rate.

    • A vibration-damping device capable of reducing the transmission of noise caused by a water pump of a hybrid vehicle, for example, to a vehicle compartment. The vibration-damping device includes a cushion member, a pump mounting member, and an elastic support member. The cushion member supports the pump, and includes holding portions each with a slit formed between an upper and lower surface thereof for insertion therein of end edges of a pump extension member that extends from the pump. The pump mounting member includes inverted L-shaped cross-section retaining portions provided on an upper surface thereof, the supporting portions being disposed between the retaining portions and the upper surface of the pump mounting member to retain the cushion member to the pump mounting member. The elastic support member engages a lower side of the pump to provide support against lateral deflection of the pump.

    • When an electrical connection box body is installed on a vehicle body, for a temporary pivotable mounting of the box body on the vehicle body, one of the box body and the vehicle body has a shaft and the other has a bracket to receive the shaft at a predetermined location, so as to allow pivoting of the box body about the shaft axis. Locating guide surfaces position the box body relative to the vehicle body during mounting, prior to receipt of the shaft at said predetermined location on the bracket. This makes the operation of installing the box easier and more precise and avoids looseness of the box body during assembly operations carried out on the box.
