    • A wheel balance weight includes a weight and a double-sided tape. The weight is formed as a substantially strip shape, is made from a ferrous alloy, and has opposite top and bottom surfaces and at least a groove. The groove is formed in the bottom surface of the weight, and crosses in the width-wise direction thereof being substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction thereof. The double-sided tape has opposite adhesive surfaces being disposed back to back with each other. One of the opposite adhesive surfaces is to be bonded onto the bottom surface of the weight, and the other one of the opposite adhesive surfaces to be bonded onto an inner peripheral surface of a wheel. Accordingly, it is possible to curve the weight with less force. Hence, it is possible to install the wheel balance weight to a wheel with ease.

    • A wheel adaptor plate system for permitting mounting of a wheel rim onto a hub having a different lug bolt pattern. The wheel adaptor plate system includes a plate member comprising a plurality of mounting apertures extending through the plate member. The plate member is designed for being coupled to the hub whereby each of a plurality of lug bolts extend through one of the mounting apertures. Each of a plurality of stud members is selectively extendable through one of the mounting apertures of the plate member for being selectively extendable through holes in the wheel rim. Each of a plurality of nut members is selectively coupled to one of the stud members for securing the wheel rim between the nut members and the plate member when the wheel rim has a pattern of holes different than the pattern of the lug bolts of the hub.

    • A method of centering a wheel rim on a wheel hub of a vehicle is provided where the hub includes a center projection arranged to engage a central hole in the rim to effect a centering action and a plurality of threaded wheel support studs carried on the hub in a pattern surrounding a central axis of the hub. The method includes providing three or four female threaded fasteners each for engaging onto a respective one of the studs for clamping the rim to the hub. Each fastener has an integral body defining a sleeve portion and a nut portion with a female thread through a central bore. The sleeve portion is inserted between the cylindrical inner surface and the threaded portion of the stud as a sliding fit inside the cylindrical inner surface so as to accurately locate the hole relative to the stud for centering the rim on the hub and the nut portion clamps the rim to the hub. The fasteners are spaced angularly around the hub and conventional nuts are engaged onto the remaining studs to hold the rim in place. When held the centering fasteners can be removed.

    • In a hub-piloted wheel mounting assembly, relative movement between a hub and drum, which can cause a wheel and tire to become out of balance, is prevented. The hub has at least one bolt extending from it and the drum has an oversized aperture for receiving the bolt so that an area of space between the bolt and the sides of the aperture is created. A spacing insert having a body with a bore for closely receiving the bolt and which is configured to be closely received within the aperture of the drum is provided to prevent relative movement of the bolt within the aperture. This prevents shifting or slippage of the drum with respect to the hub and keeps the wheel and tire in balance.
