    • The conditioned seat, has at least one seat contact surface (31), the outer side of which faces towards part of a passenger in the seat. An air-conditioning device (18) supplies conditioned air to the region of the inner side of the seat contact surface (31). An electrical heating element (24) is arranged in the region of the inner side of the seat contact surface (31) for warming the seat contact surface (31). A temperature sensor (28) detects the temperature in the region of the seat contact surface (31). For achieving a fast adjustment of the seat temperature to a preset desired temperature independent from the ambient temperature a controlling system (20) is provide which is in connection both with the air-conditioning device (18) and with the electrical heating element (24) and controls these corresponding to a pre-set desired temperature value in dependence on the temperature measured by the temperature sensor (28).

    • A controllable coolant pump for a coolant circuit of an internal combustion engine, the coolant pump including a hollow bearing shaft which is supported in a bearing sleeve, carries a drive wheel at one end, and is permanently connected at its opposite end to an impeller, the impeller having a stop surface at the end face thereof; the space between the stop surface and the impeller forming the pumping cross section for a coolant, and a piston that can be axially displaced by an actuation unit being disposed in the hollow bearing shaft and provided at its outer end with a guide plate having a collar facing the impeller for completely or partially closing the pumping cross section in accordance with the position of the piston. The actuation unit has a release lever which can be pivoted by an electromechanical actuating element about an axis of rotation, thus allowing axial positioning of the piston.

    • Protection of proteins against fibrillation may be afforded by introduction of certain histidine substitutions into the protein, such that a pair of histidines are present with sufficient spacing as to allow the histidines to coordinate with zinc. In the case of insulin, introduction of histidine residue substitutions at residues A4 and A8 together or a histidine residue substitution at residue B1, provides increased resistance to fibrillation while maintaining at least a majority of the activity of the insulin analogue. Introduction of a histidine residue substitution at residue A8 restores at least a portion of fibrillation resistance that may have been harmed by substitutions present on the B-chain such as those present in fast-acting insulins. Proteins protected by such histidine substitutions may be used to provide a pharmaceutical composition. A method of treating a patient includes administering a physiologically effective amount of the pharmaceutical composition to the patient.
