摘要： A fuel supply device for internal combustion engines has an injector formed with an injection orifice whose cross-sectional area is adjusted responsive to the position of an auxiliary throttle element located in the intake pipe of the engine and opening automatically and progressively in dependence upon the rate of engine intake air flow. The area is also adjusted as an increasing function of the difference between the pressures upstream and downstream of the auxiliary throttle element.

摘要： A single point fuel injection throttle body assembly including an idle air control circuit having an port opening into main intake bores downstream of the point of fuel distribution into the air stream. When the idle air control circuit is open, an air/fuel mixture, rather than simply air, is drawn into the into the intake manifold, thereby reducing the tendency for a lean fuel mixture at idle. A unique engine control unit “feed forward” algorithm controls the fuel injection as a function of the position of the idle air control motor so that as the idle air control circuit is opened, the pulse widths of the fuel injector signals are increased. This feature allows the initial open-loop-based fuel mixture supplied by system to be more accurate and eliminates rough unstable idle associated with closed-loop control lag times.

摘要： A cold start fuel control system is disclosed for use with an internal combustion engine having a plurality of combustion chambers, a source of fuel and an intake manifold having an inlet and an outlet port connected to each combustion chamber. The system includes a cold start fuel injector assembly having an inlet and an outlet to provide a vapor fuel charge during a cold start engine condition. The cold start fuel injector assembly inlet is fluidly connected to the source of fuel. An auxiliary intake manifold has an internal chamber and the cold start fuel injector assembly outlet is fluidly connected to the auxiliary intake manifold chamber. The auxiliary intake manifold chamber is then fluidly connected through a control orifice to each of the combustion chambers at a position downstream from the inlet of the primary intake manifold. A control circuit optionally controls the area of the control orifice to minimize noxious emissions from the engine and a shroud is optionally associated with each control orifice to enhance mixing of the vapor fuel with the inducted airflow to also minimize noxious emissions from the engine.

摘要： The present invention provides an apparatus for controlling air flow within an internal combustion engine comprising a secondary air passage. The secondary air passage system includes an air inlet channel directing air flow to the air assist valve and an air outlet channel directing air flow from the air assist valve. The air outlet channel communicates with a plurality of fuel injector tips which are disposed within the engine. An air bypass circuit is interposed between the air inlet channel and the air outlet channel to provide an alternate air channel which is independent of the air assist valve. An engine controller electronically communicates with the air assist valve for causing the air assist valve to vary between its open and closed modes.
