    • An evaporative pattern having a high strength is provided. An evaporative pattern 102 is a pattern for an evaporative casting. In the evaporative pattern 102, a reinforcing member 30 which is made of a non-evaporative material that does not evaporate by heat of a molten metal is embedded in a joint 114 which is made of an evaporative material that evaporates by the heat of the molten metal. The evaporative material is typically foam polystyrene. The strength of the foam polystyrene is low. Since the reinforcing member which is made of a material having strength higher than that of the evaporative material is embedded in the evaporative pattern 102 which is made of the foam polystyrene, the strength of the evaporative pattern 102 improves.

    • A deck preservation system is disclosed. In at least one embodiment, a deck board includes: an elongated one-piece deck board cap top cover for a deck board, adapted for a secure coupling to a board top surface of the deck board to cover the board top surface; a first cap side integrally formed with the deck board top cover and extended downwardly and adapted for a secure coupling to a board side of the deck board; a second cap side integrally formed with the deck board cap top cover and extended downwardly and adapted for a secure coupling to a board side of the deck board; wherein the first cap side and the second cap side are opposed to one another; and an inverted channel profile integrally formed and defined by the deck board top cover and first and second cap sides to cover and protect the deck board.

    • A molded support beam (1, 2, 3) that includes an elongated lower portion (11) an elongated upper portion (14) and at least one elongated flange (17, 18) extending upwardly from the elongated upper portion, is described. The elongated lower portion (11) includes at least three separate downwardly extending supports (e.g., 29, 32, 35) which together define at least two open-bottomed transverse openings (e.g., 41, 44), at least one of which being an arched open-bottomed transverse opening (e.g., 219, 234, 249). The elongated upper portion (14) includes a longitudinal passage (68), and a ledge (92) that extends horizontally outward from a second vertical side (56) thereof. The elongated lower portion (11), elongated upper portion (14) and the elongated flange(s) (17, 18) are substantially continuous and together form a substantially unitary structure, and are each typically fabricated from a plastic material (e.g., thermoplastic polyethylene), and the elongated hollow support tube (74) is typically fabricated from metal. The molded support beam (e.g., 1, 2, 3) may be used as a lower molded support beam in numerous structures, such as shipping containers (e.g., ISO Containers having lengths from 6.1 to 16.2 m).
