摘要： A tobacco shredding apparatus wherein a relatively small upright duct receives tobacco from a large magazine. A system of tobacco compacting chains draws tobacco from the lower part of the duct and feeds the resulting cake into the path of orbiting shredding knives. The chains and the knives are driven by a first variable-speed motor. A conveyor which is driven by a second variable-speed motor transfers tobacco from the magazine into the duct. The volume of tobacco in the duct is monitored by a first set of photocells whose signals are used to regulate the speed of the second motor so as to maintain the volume of tobacco in the duct within a first range. The volume of tobacco in the magazine is monitored by a second set of photocells whose signals are utilized to regulate the speed of the first motor so as to maintain the volume of tobacco in the magazine within a second range. The capacity of the magazine is between five and ten times the capacity of the duct.

摘要： A method of processing tobacco fines into a non-continuous tobacco material, the method including providing a pre-sized tobacco stem material that has a Dp90 particle size of less than 3 mm and a Dp50 particle size of less than 2 mm. The method also includes combining the pre-sized tobacco stem material with tobacco fines to provide a tobacco initial material, and processing the initial material by setting the initial material to a predefined increased moisture content, subjecting the initial material to an increase in temperature and subjecting the initial material an increased pressure in order to bind the tobacco fines to the tobacco stem material. There is also provided a non-continuous tobacco material produced by the method, a component for a delivery system including non-continuous tobacco material produced by the method, a product and a smoking article including the component.

摘要： A electronic grinder includes a main body and a grinding and dispensing chamber. The top of the main body open but covered by a cap. The main chamber includes a motor connected to a magnetically attached removable blade and propeller. The blade and propeller extend into the chamber when the grinder is assembled. When the cap is closed, the blade and propeller grinds material placed in the chamber and pull air down toward the blade and propeller. When the cap is opened, the blade and propeller function as a fan to generate airflow toward the top of the chamber to dispense ground material out of the chamber. The grinder can also include a microcontroller, a communications device, an infrared volume sensor, a scale, an audible buzzer, a vibration buzzer, and one or more sanitizing LED lights.

The herb dispenser further includes an onboard computer to receive commands from a user and automate the electronic scale and the grinding mechanism to dispense an amount of ground herb from a first delivery port of the housing.
