    • A crystallization device is for protein crystallization with a small amount of a sample in the liquid to liquid diffusion method. It is easy to fill the device with protein solution and precipitant solution and easy to pick up grown crystals from the device. The device comprises a channel plate made of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and the first and second cover sheets made of polyethylene terephthalate. The channel plate includes at least one elongated channel having one side which extends in the longitudinal direction of the channel, the one side being exposed at the bottom surface of the channel plate. The channel has both ends which communicate with a protein solution inlet and a precipitant solution inlet respectively. The channel also communicates midway with a gel inlet and a vent hole. When picking up grown crystals from the device, the second cover sheet is cut off with a cutter knife so that the channel is exposed.

    • A gain measurement circuit of a receiver includes a frequency mixer that receives a reception signal, mixes the reception signal with a local signal from an oscillator, and outputs an intermediate frequency signal; and a phase controller that extracts a part of the local signal, sets a different phase for the part, and outputs the part as the reception signal; wherein, for the different phase set by the phase controller, a direct-current voltage of the intermediate frequency signal output from the frequency mixer is detected, a conversion gain of the frequency mixer is obtained, and a gain of the receiver is calculated.

    • A radiation detector includes two radiation conversion panels for detecting radiation image information representing a radiation image of a subject. A signal combination judging circuit judges a combination of two serial signals representing the detected radiation image information. Based on the judged combination, an amplitude/phase modulator modulates the serial signal into an amplitude-modulated signal and modulates the phase of the amplitude-modulated signal according to the other serial signal, generating an amplitude/phase-modulated signal. The amplitude/phase-modulated signal is transmitted through an optical fiber to a console.

    • A crucible has a structure where a layer containing a crystallization accelerating component such as aluminum or the like (a crystallization accelerating layer) is inserted inside a quartz glass layer of a crucible straight body part excepting a crucible bottom part. The crucible does not deform and fall inwardly at the straight body part since a part containing a crystallization accelerating component advances to crystallize so as to increase strength at a high temperature when the crucible is used in pulling up silicon single crystal. Therefore, a single crystallization rate can be increased. Further, since the crystallization accelerating layer is inserted inside the quartz glass layer, the crystallization accelerating component, such as aluminum or barium, does not contact with silicon melt or a carbon susceptor, contamination by eluting these metals does not occurs. Further, since the crystallization accelerating layer is not provided at the crucible bottom part, there is no danger to crack due to thermal distortion at a time of pulling up silicon single crystal and melt leakage does not occur.
