    • A locking key prevents a slotted boss, which is secured to a spindle by a pinch bolt, from working its way off the spindle, or, in some cases, from twisting excessively in relation to the spindle.The locking key is positioned within the slot of the boss, has a hole which the pinch bolt goes through, and has a tang which engages a hole in the spindle, thus forming a loose link between the spindle and the pinch bolt. An anti-rotation tab of the locking key prevents the locking key from rotating about the pinch bolt, and prevents the tang from coming out of the tang hole in the spindle. To remove the boss, the pinch bolt must be withdrawn. The device is applicable to splined, serrated, keyed, or cylindrical spindles mounting corresponding bosses.

    • A parking locking system for an articulated or swing-type tricycle. A parking lever mounted to the handlebars of the steerable wheel actuates a cable and a rod. The rod engages a spring loaded slideable pin member into a hole in a plate fixed to the front frame of the steerable wheel. If the pin is not aligned with one of the holes in the plate, the spring will deform and the pin will slide relative to the rod. Upon further rotation of the front handlebars to a position where the pin member is aligned with a hole, the compression in the spring will cause the pin to interengage with the fixed plate thus locking the front steering wheel. The actuation of the cable interengages locking arms with a plate attached to the front of the swing shaft and with a parking gear in the drive train, respectively. A spring-loaded lever resisting interengagement of the locking arms is used to create tension in the cable and retract the locking arms when the parking lever is deactivated.

    • The steering lock for vehicles, more especially for motor cycles, comprises a lock reception housing which is secured to a tube of the vehicle steering shaft and in which there are arranged in an axially parallel manner a locking bolt to be introduced into the steering shaft and a cylinder lock so as to be axially displaceable and being connected, and comprises a cylinder housing, a cylinder core within the housing, a locking part which projects beyond the cylinder housing and can be introduced, for fixing the cylinder lock in the locking positions, into a recess of the lock reception housing.The locking part is a ring sector which, in the locking position, projects with one area into the recess of the lock reception housing in an interlocking manner and stays with the remaining area in a recess of the locking bolt, which recess receives the ring sector in the displaced position and comprises a surface which is vertical to the locking bolt longitudinal axis.

    • A lock adapted to engage links of a chain of a motorcycle or the like to prevent theft. A main body has at one end a plate detachably secured thereto, said plate having an open position at which it is detached from said body and having a closed position at which it is secured to said one end of said body. The body and the plate, when the plate is in closed position, cooperate to define the boundary surfaces of a chain receiving channel open at both ends which extends along said one end of the body and said plate. Each of first and second spaced apart parallel prongs is secured at one end to the plate and extends at right angles thereto, the opposite ends of said prongs being enlarged and constituting prong heads. The prongs pass transversely through spaces in said chain when said chain is in the channel with the heads disposed between the chain and said one end of the body. A manually operable lock mechanism is disposed in the body, said mechanism including a rotatable cylinder with an offset locking arm. The cylinder, when the mechanism is locked and the plate is in closed position, assumes a first position of rotation at which said arm engages said heads to lock the chain in place. The cylinder, when the mechanism is unlocked, assumes a second position of rotation at which said arm is spaced from the heads whereby the plate can be placed in open position and said chain removed.
