    • A wheel-rim protector comprises a flexible elongate body having first and second ends, wherein a lateral extent of the elongate body defines a rim-protection portion seatable on a rim edge of a wheel and a tail portion which extends away from the rim-protection portion seatable on a circumferential outer surface of the wheel rim. A connector which positively engages the first and second ends of the elongate body is also provided, and includes a toothed tongue element and a toothed-engagement element on a radially outer surface of the tail portion at or adjacent to at least one of the first and second ends. Teeth of the tongue element and the toothed-engagement element are interengagable to prevent or limit unintentional longitudinal separation of the first and second ends. The connector further includes an anti-lift element on or adjacent to the toothed-engagement element.

    • The present application is directed to a drive system. The drive system comprises a drive shaft and a driven wheel assembly. The wheel assembly includes a split axle coupled perpendicular to the drive shaft. An overrunning clutch is coupled between each section of the split axle and the drive shaft. A wheel is coupled to spin with each axle section. The wheels receive power from the drive shaft and are driven so that when power is applied from the drive shaft to the driven wheel assembly, whichever wheel that is spinning the slowest receives the power. The drive system may be incorporated into any number of vehicles to improve traction around turns, improve wheel slippage on uneven terrain and generates new options for how and where vehicles may be ridden.

    • A vehicle wheel comprises a wheel rim having first and second sidewalls defining a rim trough, a tire having a tire bead positioned in the rim trough in engagement with the first sidewall, and a bead lock positioned in the rim trough adjacent the tire bead. The bead lock is movable between a locked position and an unlocked position. The bead lock includes an actuator positioned in the opening and including an exposed portion accessible from outside the wheel. The bead lock can further include a band positioned in the rim trough and including two free ends movable relative to each other. The bead lock can further include a tightening mechanism secured to the two free ends. For example, the tightening mechanism can include a winch and a cable wrapped around the winch and secured to one of the free ends.
