    • A flatbed die-cutting press (10) for cutting detailed shapes in sheets (20) of foldable paper or board material that are typically fed at a rate of 6000 to 14000 sheets/hour, comprises a cutting tool assembly (40) having an apertured female die part (42) with a series of apertures (44) defining typically a complex shape or shapes to be cut out. The female die part (42) is associated with a suction channel (46) arranged so that parts (22) that are cut out of the sheets (20) are removable by suction through the apertures (44). This enables the cutting of small shapes and complex shapes whose outline extends over an area of at least several square centimeters that contains a group of cut-outs comprising a plurality of straight or curved lines or strokes all having a section less than 2 mm, possibly less than 1 mm, along all or a substantial part of their length, for the mass production of blanks of paper or board material particularly cigarette packages, where the cut-outs form an emblem on the package.

    • A transistor with a gate electrode structure is produced by providing a semiconductor body with a first surface, and with a first sacrificial layer extending in a vertical direction of the semiconductor body from the first surface. A first trench extending from the first surface into the semiconductor body is formed by removing the sacrificial layer in a section adjacent the first surface. A second trench is formed by isotropically etching the semiconductor body in the first trench. A third trench is formed below the second trench by removing at least a part of the first sacrificial layer below the second trench. A dielectric layer is formed which at least covers sidewalls of the third trench and which only covers sidewalls of the second trench. A gate electrode is formed on the dielectric layer in the second trench. The gate electrode and dielectric layer in the second trench form the gate electrode structure.

    • A mortar mixing machine has a frame and a hopper supported by the frame for containing dry mortar. The hopper has an outlet with an outlet opening. A first conveying and mixing tube, connected in a working position thereof to the outlet so as to extend horizontally, has at least one water inlet and is designed for mixing the dry mortar fed into the conveying and mixing tube from the hopper with water introduced via the at least one water inlet to prepare mixed moist mortar. The first conveying and mixing tube has a removal opening for the mixed moist mortar remote from the outlet. A second conveying and mixing tube is connected to the frame for directly receiving in a working position thereof the mixed moist mortar. The second conveying and mixing tube conveys the mixed moist mortar in a direction opposite to the conveying direction of the first conveying and mixing tube. The second conveying and mixing tube has a drive and is slidably retractable into a rest position together with the drive.
