摘要： A capping and de-capping apparatus for capping and de-capping tubes disposed in a tube holding rack having a two-dimensional array of apertures for holding the tubes. The apparatus comprises a rack support for supporting the tube holding rack, a head unit adapted for carrying a cartridge comprising at least one capping and de-capping gripper, a drive system for moving the rack support and the head unit relatively towards and away from one another, in order to cause engagement or disengagement of the capping and de-capping gripper with or from a cap of at least one tube, and a drive system for rotating the capping and de-capping gripper, wherein rotation in one direction causes attachment of the cap to the tube and rotation in the opposite direction causes detachment of the cap from said tube.

摘要： A biological sample collection system includes (i) a sample collection vessel having an opening for receiving a biological sample, (ii) a selectively movable valve comprising a core and a collar disposed about the core, and (iii) a sealing cap coupled to the valve and including a reagent chamber for storing a sample preservation reagent. The valve is configured to retain the sample preservation reagent in the reagent chamber when the valve is in a closed configuration. The sealing cap is configured to associate and form a fluid tight connection with the sample collection vessel. Associating the sealing cap with the sample collection vessel causes the valve to be placed in an open configuration in which a fluid vent through the core is placed into fluid communication with the reagent chamber, thereby causing or allowing sample preservation reagent to pass from the regent chamber to the sample collection vessel.

摘要： Contamination detection systems, kits, and techniques are described for testing surfaces for the presence of hazardous contaminants, while minimizing user exposure to these contaminants. Even trace amounts of contaminants can be detected. A collection kit provides a swab that is simple to use, easy to hold and grip, allows the user to swab large areas of a surface, and keeps the user's hands away from the surface being tested. The kit also provides open and closed fluid transfer mechanism to transfer the collected fluid to a detection device while minimizing user exposure to hazardous contaminants in the collected fluid. Contamination detection kits can rapidly collect and detect hazardous drugs, including trace amounts of antineoplastic agents, in healthcare settings at the site of contamination.

To this end, provided is a testing booth for virus sample collection having an examination window, comprising: a space part which provides a space in which the tester is located, is sealed from the outside, and has a window wall facing the test subject; and an examination window which is provided in the window wall of the space part and corresponds to the face of the test subject, wherein the examination window comprises: a swab inlet/outlet part which is formed so as to pass through opposite sides of the examination window, and has a passageway having a diameter through which a sample-collecting swab tool can go in/come out; and a detachable cap which can be detachably attached to the swab inlet/outlet part at the space part side and has formed therein an opening means for guiding the sample-collecting swab tool from the space part to the passageway of the swab inlet/outlet part, wherein the examination window is characterized by the opening means opening only in one direction going from the space part toward the passageway of the swab inlet/outlet part, or, the examination window is characterized in that if the opening means is not required, a fitting portion, into which the swab can be fitted from the outside of the booth, passes through the examination window, and there is a handle portion which is connected to the swab and which protrudes to the inside of the booth.

The tissue cassette has a recess including a body with at least one side wall and a bottom wall and is formed of material that can be successfully sectioned in a microtome and is resistant to degradation from solvents and chemicals used to fix, process and stain tissue. The tissue cassette is movably coupled to the frame. The lid is separably coupled to a peripheral portion of the frame. When the lid is separated from the peripheral portion, the lid and the tissue cassette are capable of moving from a first position to a second position with respect to the frame, and in the second position the bottom wall and at least a portion of the side wall extend beyond a bottom edge of the frame for sectioning in the microtome.
