    • A swingarm suspension system for a vehicle for reducing weight by reducing a load on a link mechanism and reducing a space in the vicinity of the center of the vehicle. A swingarm is attached to a vehicle body side pivot shaft with a shock absorber having a lower end attached to a lower part of the swingarm. A first link is attached to an upper end of the shock absorber and an upper part of the swingarm and a second link is attached to part of the vehicle body side lower down relative to the pivot shaft and the first link. An angle R formed by a first axis, constituting a swing radius of the first link, and a second axis, running along a tension direction of the second link, is set so as to pass through 90° while the shock absorber extends between maximum extension compression positions.

    • A wheel structure wherein a hub includes both a hub body and a rubber support member which closes an opening of the hub body. A right bearing disposed on the hub body side and a left bearing disposed on the rubber support member side are rotatably mounted on an axle. An inner collar fitted on the axle is provided for maintaining a constant distance between the right and left bearings. The right bearing is brought into abutment against the rubber support member through a cylindrical outer collar which surrounds the inner collar. When the right bearing is press-fitted into the hub body hole, a press-fit load imposed on the right bearing can be borne by the rubber support member through the outer collar. The rigidity of the hub can be enhanced while preventing deformation. A higher load can be borne to act on the hub during vehicular operation.

    • Links are provided for linking a brake caliper pivotally supported through a pin to a vehicle body. A master cylinder is fixed to the vehicle body and is constructed of a first link having one end pivotally supported through a pin to the brake caliper and the other end pivotally supported through a pin to an input member of the master cylinder. A second link is provided having one end pivotally supported through a pin to the vehicle body and the other end pivotally supported through a pin to the first link at an intermediate portion thereof. When the brake caliper is swung in a first direction by a brake reaction force received from a brake disc, the input member is upwardly driven through the first link and the second link, and the master cylinder is operated to generate a secondary brake hydraulic pressure.

    • A radially mounted disk brake has a caliper body secured to a support member secured to a vehicle body. The caliper body has mounting holes extending in a direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation of a disk rotor. Large-diameter hole portions are formed at the openings of the mounting holes on the side thereof closer to the support member. The large-diameter hole portions are fitted with the side wall surfaces of cylindrical step portions provided on the support member in such a manner that gaps are formed between the bottoms of the large-diameter hole portions and the distal end surfaces of the step portions. The center of the axial length of each mounting hole is positioned radially outward of the disk rotor in the axial direction of the mounting hole with respect to a shortest-distance portion of the caliper body at which the distance between the center of a cylinder bore and the mounting hole is shortest.

A front disk brake includes a brake caliper provided with a pair of caliper side mount portions and a caliper bracket provided with a pair of bracket side mount portions. The brake caliper is fixed to the caliper bracket by mounting fastening bolts in bolt passing holes and screw holes formed respectively in the mount portions. The bolt passing holes and the screw holes are provided at their portions on the sides of opposed surfaces with counterbores in which collar members are to be fitted. The lower-side counterbore in the brake caliper is formed in an oblong sectional shape elongate in the arrangement direction of the lower-side counterbore and the upper-side counterbore paired therewith.
