    • A backlight assembly includes a light guide plate including a light incident face, a light exiting face extended from one end portion of the light incident face, and a reflection face extended from another end portion of the light incident face. The reflection face includes a first reflection face extended from another end portion of the light incident face, and a second reflection face horizontally extended from the first reflection face. The backlight assembly additionally includes a light adsorption member disposed adjacent to the reflection face to prevent the light from reflecting. A reflection plate and optical sheets are disposed adjacent to the light guide plate, so that entire thickness of the backlight assembly is reduced. In addition, leakage of the light incident around the third light exiting face is prevented to improve the quality of the image displayed through the LCD device.

    • Disclosed is an LCD device including an electromagnetic wave shielding member for shielding the electromagnetic waves generated from electric power applied to lamp of backlight assembly. The shielding member comprising conductive material is coated on surface of a diffusing plate to have mesh shape. The shielding member is filled into groove formed on the surface of the diffusing plate to have mesh shape. Accordingly, the electromagnetic waves may be shielded from the LCD panel. Furthermore, the shielding member makes electrical contact with the chassis of the LCD device through various ground members so as to be connected to an earth potential, thereby being stabilized electrically. Accordingly, display quality of the LCD device is improved. A conductive tape is used as the ground member, and the conductive tape is strongly fixed to the chassis of the LCD device by means of conductive fixing clip or conductive screw.

    • A flat panel display device including a protecting sheet for protecting an upper surface is disclosed. The flat panel display device includes an image display part for displaying an image and a protecting part for protecting an outer surface thereof. The image display part displays the image by varying a voltage applied to electrodes oppositely formed on inner surfaces of a pair of transparent facing substrate respectively to thereby turn on or off each pixel. The protecting part is disposed on an outer surface of the substrate perceived by user's eye from an external shock or foreign mailers. Accordingly, the flat panel display device strongly resist the external shock, and the foreign matters are easily remove from the flat panel display device. The anti-glare treatment is carried out on the protecting sheet to thereby prevent dazzling of users due to the reflection of the light.

    • A method for illuminating a liquid crystal display device, a back-light assembly for performing the same and a liquid crystal display device using the same can improve the front luminance and production yield. Lights from a lamp is incident to a LCD panel side, which are then primarily diffused for a uniformity of the luminous flux of the incident lights. The luminous flux of the primarily diffused lights is condensed with respect to a first orientation component on a plane in parallel with the LCD panel, and then partially and secondarily diffused for extending a view angle of pixels of the LCD panel. After the luminous flux of the secondarily diffused lights is condensed with respect to a second orientation component perpendicular to the first orientation on the parallel plane, the condensed lights are illuminated onto the LCD panel. A diffusion sheet for secondarily diffusing the luminous flux and a condensing sheet for condensing the second orientation component are formed by a single sheet to reduce the manufacturing process of the liquid crystal display device. Also, a defect produced from respective sheets is minimized to enhance the yield.
