    • A waveform translator in which the frequency spectrum of a repetitive non band limited input signal is translated to an equivalent frequency spectrum which is harmonically related to a fixed reference frequency. In the waveform translator a synthesized source generator and a synthesized receive generator are made coherent. The source generator drives a DUT, and the receive generator coupled to a sampler, samples the DUT to produce a non band limited difference signal harmonically related to the fixed reference frequency. The difference signal is digitized in an analog to digital converter which is clocked at the reference frequency and produces a predetermined integer number of data points per cycle corresponding to the input signal. A computer is coupled to the waveform translator for DC to 75 GHz oscillography.

    • A modular wall block is formed with a groove in a top surface configured to frictionally receive fingers of a rake-like connection device which may extend through apertures in an end portion of a grid-like sheet of reinforcing material. The connection device includes enlarged tabs projecting away from the fingers to engage in a widened slot defined in the bottom of superimposed wall blocks for positioning the front faces of the blocks in the retaining wall relative to each other in either a vertically aligned or vertically set back relationship depending upon the direction of extension of the tabs. The groove and the slot are formed at opposite ends of a tapered through-opening extending between top and bottom surfaces of the block. By virtue of the taper, the width of the groove is less than a width of the slot to accommodate the different portions of the connector device. Both the groove and the slot, as well as other selected depressions and recesses can be formed from one side of the block during manufacture to simplify the manufacturing equipment and minimize the cost of the wall blocks. Corner blocks are provided having perpendicular front and side surfaces with similar aesthetic patterns for forming corner portions of sections of a retaining wall extending at right angles to each other.

    • A coupling is provided for interconnecting two tubular parts having opposed ends and shoulders spaced from the ends, and via which force is applicable to urge the opposed ends toward one another. The coupling includes two tubular members defining a longitudinal axis and adapted to coaxially receive the respective parts and to transmit axial force thereto, via the shoulders; a torque isolator assembly including an annulus received against one of the shoulders on one of the members, and generally longitudinal projection means positioned on the one member to block rotation of the annulus relative to the one member, and about the axis; cooperating screw threads on the members adapted to interfit when the members are relatively rotated to make up the coupling; and a pusher surface on the other of the members engagable with the annulus to transmit axial force via the annulus to the one shoulder, when the coupling is made up.
