摘要： A system for producing steam for the production of electricity includes a fossil fuel burning furnace in fluid communication with a liquid air fractional distillation facility. The liquid oxygen produced in the fractional distillation facility is used to increase the efficiency of the fractional distillation facility and the furnace. Gaseous nitrogen extracted from the fractional distillation facility is liquefied and used to increase efficiency of steam turbines by virtue of thermal communication with steam exiting the turbines. A magnetohydrodynamic electrical generation apparatus is included. Elements of the MHD apparatus are cooled cryogenically by liquid nitrogen, thereby enabling superconductivity to occur in the system. A suitable effluent gas recovery means is downstream of the furnace.

摘要： To gain electric energy in addition to producing molten pig iron, from lumpy iron ore and solid fuels, by using a direct reduction zone for the reduction of the iron ore to sponge iron and a meltdown-gasifying zone for the production of molten pig iron, carbon carriers are used in, and oxygen-containing gases are supplied to, the meltdown-gasifying zone. The reduction gas forming is fed into the direct reduction zone. The reduction gas reacted there is supplied as top gas to a power generation plant including a turbine. In order to adapt the power generation to the power consumption by simultaneously avoiding any influence on the metallurgical conditions at the production of pig iron and its further processing, the charge of carbon carriers into the meltdown-gasifying zone is varied as a function of the gas consumption of the power generation plant in a manner that, with a higher gas consumption, the volatile constituents of the charge are increased and the C.sub.fix charge is reduced and, with a lower gas consumption, it is proceeded the other way round, while keeping the amount and composition of the pig iron produced substantially constant.

The combustible gas is supplied as a fuel to a gas turbine, and a portion of compressed air is bled from an air compressor for gas turbine at the outlet or at the intermediate stage of the air compressor, and divided into two portions, one of which is supplied as feed air to the oxygen plant, thus eliminating the need for a feed air compressor, and another of which is mixed with the oxygen from the oxygen plant to prepare oxygen-enriched air, which is supplied to the coal gasification plant, thus reducing the capacity of the oxygen plant.

摘要： The fuel required to provide the energy for compressing a gas can be reduced by compressing the gas substantially adiabatically through a pressure ratio of at least 2.5:1 in a compressor, cooling the hot compressed gas by heat exchange with water at superatmospheric pressure, further heating the water to produce super-heated steam and using the superheated steam to drive the compressor. The total amount of fuel consumed can be considerably less than that used for compressing gas conventionally (i.e. substantially isothermally).

The method comprises using the energy to refrigerate and liquefy atmospheric nitrogen and oxygen, storing the liquid gases at substantially below atmospheric temperature and subsequently using cold liquid gas, in combination with a source of heat at or above atmospheric temperature, to drive a closed cycle heat engine and yield mechanical energy. Auxiliary open and closed cycle heat engines are added to yield further mechanical energy and so utilize the full energy potential of the cold liquid gases.

摘要： The present invention provides methods and system for power generation using a high efficiency combustor in combination with a CO2 circulating fluid. The methods and systems advantageously can make use of a low pressure ratio power turbine and an economizer heat exchanger in specific embodiments. Additional low grade heat from an external source can be used to provide part of an amount of heat needed for heating the recycle CO2 circulating fluid. Fuel derived CO2 can be captured and delivered at pipeline pressure. Other impurities can be captured.

摘要： A LNG liquefaction plant system includes concurrent power production, wherein the refrigeration content of the refrigerant or SMR is used to liquefy and sub-cool a natural gas stream in a cold box or cryogenic exchanger. For concurrent power production, the system uses waste heat from refrigerant compression to vaporize and superheat a waste heat working fluid that in turn drives a compressor for refrigerant compression. The refrigerant may be an external SMR or an internal LNG refrigerant working fluid expanded and compressed by a twin compander arrangement.
