    • A convertible, collapsible shelter apparatus for use on land and in a body of water comprises a buoyant vehicle in combination with a shelter assembly. The buoyant vehicle has (a) an inflatable frame, (b) a flexible member whose perimeter is sealingly attached to the frame, and (c) anchors for holding a spaced plurality of pole members. The shelter assembly has (a) a plurality of struts which are removably held by the anchors and extend upwardly therefrom and across the floor, (b) a flexible cover supported by the struts and which extends to proximate the perimeter of floor and has an entrance for an occupant of the shelter; (c) an inflatable cushion which covers the frame and is removably retained against the floor by the frame, and (d) fasteners for holding a bottom portion of the cover proximate an edge of the cushion. When the cushion, the struts, and the cover are removed from the vehicle to form a tent, the fasteners are capable of maintaining the cover proximate the cushion. The device greatly reduces the amount of gear required to participate in boating, camping, and aquatic activities.

    • The present invention provides a method and apparatus for the construction of a low-cost building structure through the synergistic composition of material, process, and structural design. In a first embodiment, a specially fashioned balloon, in the shape of a house, is used as a one-sided form, and is sprayed with a building material formulation. The building formulation may include: structural material, reinforcing material such as fibers to eliminate or minimize separate structural reinforcement, a gaseous bubble material (to provide thermal insulation), and other ingredients such as fillers, strengtheners, bulk-formers, accelerators, coloring agents and dryers. The structure can be created rapidly, and the balloon deflated and removed in minimum time, all by a few as 2 men. The low cost of the labor and materials and equipment used according to the present invention result in a more economical method of creating a building than any presently known method.

    • A drip pan adapted to catch dirt and debris falling from a vehicle that is driven onto it, thereby protecting a garage floor surface underlying the drip pan from soiling or contamination. The drip pan is a rectangular sheet of plastic that is sized to extend beyond the perimeter of the vehicle with which it will be used. The edges of the plastic sheet are rolled under and thermally sealed or glued along a line parallel with the perimeter of the sheet, forming a sleeve. In one embodiment, a radially compressible cylindrical material, such as pipe insulation tubing, is inserted into the sleeves to provide a raised ridge around the perimeter of the sheet. In a second embodiment, the sleeves on each side are hermetically sealed and provided with air inflation valves so that they can be inflated to create the ridge. The ridge serves as a side wall to contain the salt, ice, or dirt that falls off the vehicle onto the sheet; a vehicle can be driven over the ridge without damaging it or permanently deforming it. The drip pan is washable and is inexpensive so that it may be discarded and readily replaced when worn.

    • There is disclosed a novel precast building structure system for a polygonal building, preferably a twelve-sided building structure. In particular, the precast structures are constituted by four basic units namely, a system of central core elements, a floor panel system constituted by essentially identical precast concrete floor elements, a plurality of like numbered wall elements which may have openings of various kinds for doors, windows, etc., and a plurality of roof panel elements corresponding in number to the number of wall panels and floor panels but staggered in relation to the wall panels and juxtaposed over the floor panels. The wall panels rest on the piers and are secured via weld plates and at spaced points to the ends of the floor panels. The floor panels and the roof panels incorporate a unique T-beam construction which in conjunction with the integrally cast complementary pairs of triangularly shaped floor and/or roof panel portions, is reinforced with steel. The roof panels include a beam portion and an integrally cast pair of angled flange portions, the angle being proportional to the pitch of the roof and the number of sides (which determine the included angle between adjacent wall panels) of the building. The individual floor panels, roof panels, and wall panels have incorporated conventional inset securement or fastening members such as concrete anchored weld plates so that the entire structure, constituted by the stacked core elements, piers or pillars, the floor panels, the wall panels and roof panels, is welded into an integral monolithic unit.
