    • A ramped garage draining system is provided having a parking area that is designed to receive a vehicle or other moveable object that may drip liquids. The draining system is designed to reside inside a garage or other structure and direct the liquid outside of the structure. The parking area is bordered on three sides with walls that extend above the parking area to contain the fluids. The ramp slopes toward a draining portion to direct the liquid towards a seal in the door to the structure. Seal interrupters extend under the seal and displace the seal upwards, creating a gap for the liquid to drain.

    • An automotive drip pad assembly having an elongated drip pan with an oil absorbent pad attached to its top surface. The drip pan has a front wall, a rear wall, and laterally spaced side walls that form an open top container. Cylindrical bosses on the walls of the drip pan have vertical bore holes that receive the inner ends of four tie wires that are attached thereto. The outer ends of the tie wires are attached to fixed structural members on the under side of the vehicle. The drip pan can be positioned beneath the vehicle anywhere oil or oil related products leak.

    • A drip pan adapted to catch dirt and debris falling from a vehicle that is driven onto it, thereby protecting a garage floor surface underlying the drip pan from soiling or contamination. The drip pan is a rectangular sheet of plastic that is sized to extend beyond the perimeter of the vehicle with which it will be used. The edges of the plastic sheet are rolled under and thermally sealed or glued along a line parallel with the perimeter of the sheet, forming a sleeve. In one embodiment, a radially compressible cylindrical material, such as pipe insulation tubing, is inserted into the sleeves to provide a raised ridge around the perimeter of the sheet. In a second embodiment, the sleeves on each side are hermetically sealed and provided with air inflation valves so that they can be inflated to create the ridge. The ridge serves as a side wall to contain the salt, ice, or dirt that falls off the vehicle onto the sheet; a vehicle can be driven over the ridge without damaging it or permanently deforming it. The drip pan is washable and is inexpensive so that it may be discarded and readily replaced when worn.

    • A floor for a portable containment berm has an intermediate layer of flexible puncture-resistant material sandwiched between lower and upper sheets of flexible impervious material and at least one puncture-resistant and wear-resistant tread pad fixed to the top surface of the upper sheet of flexible impervious material. In one embodiment, the layer of puncture-resistant material and the sheets of impervious material are substantially coextensive and are welded in laminar relationship along their peripheries. In another embodiment, the intermediate layer of flexible puncture-resistant material includes at least two belts of flexible puncture-resistant material with the lower and upper sheets welded in laminar relationship along their peripheries and between each adjacent pair of belts. In either embodiment, the tread pads are welded to the top surface of the upper sheet of flexible impervious material in a configuration suitable to receive the wheels of a vehicle traversing the floor of the berm.

    • A portable chemical spill control device includes an expansive sheet of material (preferably multiple layers that include at least one layer of absorbent material) and having upper and lower surfaces and a periphery that defines a circumference. The sheet of material is of a material that is resistant to fluid attacks so that spills deposited upon the upper surface are contained on the upper surface. A peripheral bead includes a foldable portion that extends around the expansive sheet of material, the bead including an elongated tensile member and a folded portion that holds the elongated tensile member to the absorbent sheet of material. A connection joins the peripheral bead to the expansive sheet of absorbent material in a configuration that envelops the tensile member with the foldable portion. The elongated tensile member can be moved between open and folded positions wherein the tensile member subjects the expansive sheet of material to tension in an open position that maximizes its circumference, and wherein in the folded position the tensile member folds to provide multiple loops.

    • An absorbent mat assembly including a petroleum resistant mat having a bottom panel and a raised perimeter forming a recess. An absorbent pad is placed within the recess and a fluid permeable backflow prevention member and a fluid permeable mesh are placed over the absorbent pad and secured to the mat using a plurality of mesh connectors. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the absorbent pad includes a recyclable, washable and reusable material such as a polypropylene absorbent pad. The mat may be formed of a compound including recycled tires. The backflow prevention member and the mesh may be formed of a solvent or petroleum resistant material such as a high density polyethylene. The absorbent mat assembly may also include a connector strip for connecting two mats together along a marginal edge.
