    • A two component polyurethane adhesive and a method of bonding construction materials to various construction substrates. The adhesive being the reaction product of two separate components that are mixed together immediately prior to application upon dispensing onto a substrate. The first part of the adhesive, referred to as the "A-side" is a polyisocyanate prepolymer, preferably a polymeric MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) based prepolymer. The second part of the adhesive, referred to as the "B-side" is a blend of elastomeric and flexible polyglycols. The adhesive formed by mixing the A-side and B-side components, is a frothing foam that has a consistency such that it does not run or drip when applied to the substrate, that expands upon application to the substrate surface to fill voids or imperfections, that collapses when the material to be bonded is placed in contact with the adhesive, and that has a rapid cure time.

    • An aesthetic roofing panel or other aesthetic panel and method of producing it, comprising a substantially rigid panel shaped foam body having an upper surface which aesthetically smiluates roofing configuration; and a weather resistant sheet of a shape conforming to said upper surface; said weather resistant sheet bonded to said upper surface of said body; a plurality of said roofing panels having edge portions adapted to overlap adjacent edges of adjacent ones of said panels to shed water thereover; connecting respective cooperable interlocking means of each panel and an interlocking strip on a roof structure, respectively, for readily and securely fixing said panels on said roof structure; the disclosure also including a novel method for producing said roofing panels, comprising the forming of a thin weather resistant sheet of material into an aesthetic roof or other surface simulating configuration and casting a substantially rigid foam body under pressure contiguous with and bonded to said formed weather-resistant sheet; further, the method includes the provision of an interlocking means on said foam body and the securing of an interlocking strip on a roof or other structure and the installation of said panels on said roof or other structure by interlocking said interlocking means with said panel or a plurality thereof.

    • A structural surface metal shingle covering for a wall or roof of a building or the like in which the single covering includes a plurality of metal shingle cover elements disposed in parallel courses upon a framework providing a surface. The metal shingle cover elements are tapered and arranged with their narrowing portions exposed to weather and define tapered openings therebetween under which a plurality of tapered flashing elements are disposed and held by the shingle cover elements to mask the tapered openings whereby a relatively lightweight virtually leak proof, fire proof metal structural covering for the surface. A metal shingle element provided with an integral structural configuration to resist distortion of the shingle element in the area of the shingle element which cooperates with the next above course of shingle elements to assure virtuality linear contact of the butt flange on the next above shingle element across the width of the lower shingle element.
