    • A flexible elongated seal for use in sealing the interface between a window frame and the corresponding window glass of a vehicle. The flexible elongated seal has a rigid reinforcement embedded within a portion of it and a flexible wire mesh reinforcement embedded within a different portion of it. The portion of the flexible elongated seal that is reinforced by the rigid reinforcement is very stiff which has advantages, but it cannot be bent along its length to conform to curved portions of a perimeter of the window frame. The portion of the flexible elongated seal that is reinforced by the wire mesh reinforcement is slightly less stiff than the portion reinforced by the rigid reinforcement, but it can be bent along its length to enable it to conform to curved portions of the window frame.

    • A vehicle (10a) includes an elongated opening (35) defined by a frame (33) in a side (30) of the vehicle. The opening (35) receives therein a window pane (34) and a seal (40) is positioned in the space between the frame (33) and the window pane (34). The elongated opening (35) has opposed ends with side panels (38) adjacent the ends of the opening (35) and positioned so that an end portion of each panel overlies the opening. Disposed between an interior surface of opposed end portions of the window pane (34) and the end portion of the panel overlying the opening (35) is an essentially opaque material. There is at least one lamp (32) attached to the window pane (34) directly on an exterior surface of the end portions of the window pane (34) opposite the end portions of the panel (38).

    • A sealing arrangement for attachment to the window frame running around a window opening on a vehicle door comprises a sealing strip made of extruded plastics or rubber material and incorporating metal reinforcemet. The strip fits over a flange forming part of the window frame. The strip has a locking protrusion made of flexible material having a shoulder adjacent a hollow interior chamber. The latter enables the shoulder to flex and pivot and to pass over a re-entrant rigid lip at the mouth of a rigid channel in the frame and to lock behind this lip. The strip can thus be fitted and removed without the use of a tool. The strip also defines a channel for receiving the window glass.

    • Disclosed is a weather strip comprising: (a) a solid rubber made retainer; (b) a plurality of retainer lips projecting from the inside of the retainer, the retainer lips being arranged to oppose each other and adapted such that the flange of an automobile body is inserted into the space formed by the opposing retainer lips; and (c) a projection which is provided on the end of at least one pair of the retainer lips among the plurality of retainer lips and projects toward the innermost surface of the retainer so as to be pressure-contacted by the flange of the automobile body. The pair of retainer lips having the projection come into contact with each other at the portion where the projections are provided and open gradually toward the open end of the retainer. Two pairs of retainer lips are provided inside the retainer, toward the open end and the innermost surface opposing the open end, respectively, and the pair of retainer lips having the projection is that which is located close to the innermost surface of the retainer.
