摘要： [Objective] An object is to provide a method for producing a diol by which diols having a favorable color scale and containing a reduced amount of an unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon can be produced.
[Solution] A method for producing a diol, including a) supplying metaboric acid, a saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon and a reaction gas containing molecular oxygen to a reactor and performing liquid-phase oxidation of the saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon with the reaction gas containing molecular oxygen in the presence of metaboric acid to obtain a reaction liquid containing an oxide, b) esterifying the oxide to obtain a reaction liquid containing a borate compound, c) separating the reaction liquid containing a borate compound into an unreacted saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon and a distillation residue by distillation, d) separating the distillation residue into orthoboric acid and an organic layer by hydrolysis, e) separating the organic layer into an alkali aqueous solution layer and a crude alcohol layer by saponification with an alkali, and f) performing first distillation on the crude alcohol layer to remove a monoalcohol, and then performing second distillation on the residual liquid under conditions of a temperature of lower than 250° C. and a residence time of shorter than 60 minutes.

摘要： CONSTRUCTION The present invention relates to an industrial purification process in the process of manufacturing alcohols and ketones by oxidation of hydrocarbon wherein after removing by extraction organic impurities, formed as by-products of an oxidation reaction, from aqueous boric acid solution obtained by hydrolysis of an oxidation reaction solution containing boric acid ester, obtained by performing an oxidation reaction in the presence of boric acid, in order to essentially regenerate boric acid and prevent lowering of the reaction rate, selectivity and excessive soiling of the apparatus in the case of cyclically using said regenerated boric acid in an oxidation reaction, boric acid is regenerated and cyclically used again in said hydrocarbon oxidation reaction.EFFECTThe present invention is a process for purifying boric acid for hydrocarbon oxidation which reduces the amount of harmful impurities to an extent that allows circulating aqueous boric acid solution to be reused in a continuing oxidation reaction, while also maintaining the selectivity of the oxidation reaction at a level of selectivity obtained with fresh boric acid.

Reacting the hydrocarbons with a gas containing molecular oxygen in the presence of a boron compound;B. hydrolyzing the resulting reaction mixture which contains at least one boric acid ester with an aqueous medium containing boric acid;C. separating the hydrolyzate into a substantially organic component from which the oxidation product is recovered and a substantially aqueous component containing boric acid and water-soluble organic secondary products;D. recovering boric acid from the aqueous component;E. oxidizing the residual boric acid mother liquor from (d), or a part thereof in the liquid phase with a gas containing molecular oxygen; andF. returning the resulting solution from (e) to hydrolysis step (b).
