    • A control apparatus for a DC motor in an image forming apparatus and a method thereof are provided to reliably control the DC motor by using motor speed estimated during low speed driving of the motor to reduce a speed error. A control apparatus for a DC motor(80) in an image forming apparatus includes a speed sensor, a speed estimating unit(40), and a motor driving unit(70). The speed sensor generates a pulse corresponding to speed of the DC motor. The speed estimating unit determines whether speed estimation of the DC motor is required or not according to the speed of the DC motor and estimates the speed of the DC motor according to the speed measured by the speed sensor in case that the speed estimation of the DC motor is required. The motor driving unit drives the DC motor according to the speed estimated by the speed estimating unit.

    • PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for controlling a position of rotation are provided to stop a controlled object at a desired position in a rotating process by reducing the variation of the stopping distance of the controlled object. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a position of rotation includes a variable measuring process(10), a variable comparison process(12), a period decision process(14), and a control value decision process(16). The variable measuring process(10) is to measure a first and a second practical control variables. The variable comparison process(12) is to compare the first practical variable to a predetermined control variable. The period decision process(14) is to decide a predetermined period if the first practical variable is less than the predetermined control variable. The control value decision process(16) is to decide a control value for controlling the controlled object if the predetermined period passes or the first practical variable is more than the predetermined control variable.

    • A method and an apparatus for controlling the rotation of an object are provided. In the method, first and second actual control variables which vary as the object rotates are measured. It is determined whether the first actual control variable is smaller than a predetermined control variable. It is determined whether a predetermined period of time has elapsed if it is determined that the first actual control variable is smaller than the predetermined control variable. Difference between a physical quantity that is generated corresponding to the first actual control variable and the second actual control variable is obtained, and a control amount for controlling the object is determined by using the difference, if it is determined that the predetermined period of time elapsed or the first actual control variable is larger than the predetermined control variable. Here, the predetermined control variable corresponds to position by which the object should be rotated for stopping the object in a desired position.
