    • An inkjet printer and a printing method are provided to improve print quality and print speed and reduce influence due to hardening shrinkage by gradually solidifying ink. An inkjet printer comprises an ultraviolet irradiation unit, an ultraviolet quantity control unit(23), and a mode change unit. The ultraviolet irradiation unit irradiates the ultraviolet ray towards a print medium and solidifies the ink adhering to the print medium. The ultraviolet irradiation unit controls the ultraviolet quantity to harden ink provisionally and permanently. The first curing mode permanently hardens the ink with one ultraviolet irradiation. The second curing mode permanently hardens the ink after provisionally hardening ink. The mode changing unit converts the hardening mode.
