    • A piston assembly for an air drop hammer is provided to push a seal ring of synthetic resin material against the inner wall of the cylinder so as to improve the airtightness between the cylinder and the piston and prevent abrasion of the cylinder inner wall. A piston assembly for an air drop hammer comprises a piston(20), a seal ring(30), and an elastic ring(40). The piston reciprocates inside a cylinder of the air drop hammer. The seal ring is received in one or more piston grooves(21) on one side and contacts the inner wall of the cylinder on the other side. The piston grooves are formed on the outside surface of the piston in the circumferential direction. The elastic ring is inserted in the circumferential groove on the inner side of the seal ring to push the seal ring toward the inner wall of the cylinder.
