    • A differential coupling device for a vehicle is provided to substantially reduce a time period until the coupling device is shifted from a disengaged condition to an engaged condition. A pressurized fluid source includes a pumping element having a rotor(61) for pumping a pressurized fluid in response to rotation of the rotor. A stationary plenum assembly(51) coupled to a rotatable housing(13) defines a pumping chamber, and the pumping element is disposed within the pumping chamber to pump the pressurized fluid into a high pressure fluid passage. A drive member transmits rotational movement from the rotatable housing to the rotor of the pumping element. The rotatable housing has a hub portion(41) defining an outer cylindrical surface, and the stationary plenum assembly is disposed in a surrounding relationship about the outer cylindrical surface of the hub portion.
