    • A fire barrier is provided for a structure including a substantially planar member (1) having secured thereto an elongate substantially C-shaped member (3) having a longitudinal slot (5) formed therein, the C-shaped member having longitudinally-extending flanges (7) protruding laterally therefrom in a plane substantially parallel to the planar member. A sheet of intumescent material (13) covers the elongate slot (5) of the C-shaped member (3), and resilient retaining means (15) extends partially around the C-shaped member (3) and engages behind the flanges (7) thereof so as to support the sheet of intumescent material (13) and the panels (9) of fire-resistant material.

      이를 위하여 본 발명에서는 지붕 구조체(1), 측면 구조체(2), 언더프레임(3),박공 구조체(4)로 이루어지는 철도차량 구조체(10)의 길이방향 중앙부의 지붕 구조체(1)의 차 안쪽에 강도판(7)을 부착한다. 강도판(7)의 철도차량 구조체(10)의 길이방향의 부착범위는 2개의 장여(6) 사이이고, 지붕 구조체(1)의 좌우방향의 부착범위는 지붕 구조체(1)의 좌우방향 길이의 절반정도이다. 강도판(7)의 판 두께는 지붕 구조체(1)의 상하방향의 높이가 높아짐에 따라 두꺼워져 있다. 이와 같은 구조에 있어서는, 막대한 변형이 생기는 철도차량 구조체(10)의 길이방향 중앙부의 지붕 구조체(1)의 변형이 억제되기 때문에, 철도차량 구조체(10)의 굽힘 강성을 효율적으로 향상할 수 있다. 즉, 철도차량의 상하방향의 굽힘 진동을 억제할 수 있기 때문에 양호한 승차감 성능을 제공할 수 있다.

Overlapping margins are made allowance for a shrinking volume of the underframe 10 due to welding a bolster.
