    • PURPOSE: A mold core package for forming a powder slush molding tool is provided to form a powder slush molding tool by using a mold formed by an addition manufacturing method, and the powder slush molding tool is used for manufacturing a soft skin of a flexible polymer. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a polymeric skin for a vehicle comprises the following steps. A thin layer of particulate is deposited. A binding agent is selectively applied to the thin layer of particulate to define a cross section of a mold core package. A step of depositing the thin layer of particulate and a step of applying the binding agent are repeated to form the mold core package having a mold cavity. Molten materials are applied to the mold cavity to form a cast molding tool. The cast molding tool is coated with polymeric materials to form a polymeric skin in a slush molding process. The mold core package is a package for forming a powder slush molding tool. The mold core package comprises the following: a cope having a first molding surface defined by a plurality of stacked particulate layers; a drag having a second molding surface defined by a plurality of stacked particulate layers; and a casting cavity defined by the first and second molding surfaces having a negative configuration of a thermal control feature to be cast into the powder slush molding tool for use in a slush molding process.

    • A method for producing a contoured metallic casting core is provided to obtain an investment casting core having a smooth and continuous tapered shape and useful as constitutional element of a super-alloy turbine engine. A method for producing an investment casting core from a metallic blank having a width between a first surface and a second surface parallel with each other and a thickness smaller than the length crossing the width, comprises: a step(202) of locally thinning the blank from at least one of the first surface and the second surface; and a step(206) of penetrating and cutting the blank across the thickness. The penetrating and cutting step is performed by at least one of stamping, laser cutting, liquid jet cutting and electrical discharge machining.
