摘要： A pneumatically powered surgical cutting and fastening instrument with a manually operated retraction device is provided to enable a surgeon to lock a distal spine portion in a desired articulated position simply by releasing a selector switch handle. A drive system operably communicates with a pneumatically powered tool to selectively apply at least a drive system generated firing motion to the firing mechanism of the pneumatically powered tool. A retraction member communicates with the drive system to enable a manually generated retraction motion to be applied thereto to manually move the firing mechanism in a distal direction from the actuated position to the unactuated position. The drive system is adapted to apply a drive system generated retraction motion to the firing mechanism to cause the firing mechanism to move in a proximal direction from the actuated position to the unactuated position in response to another flow of gas from the source of gas.

摘要： A pneumatically powered surgical cutting and fastening instrument with a distally mounted pneumatically powered rotary drive member is provided to enable a surgeon to lock a distal spine portion in a desired articulated position simply by releasing a selector switch handle. A distal member is adapted to receive a pneumatically operated tool assembly. An elongate shaft assembly(100) has a distal end portion associated with the distal member and a proximal end portion. A pneumatically powered rotary drive member is supported by the distal end portion of the elongate shaft assembly, and is fluidly coupled to a source of pneumatic power. The rotary drive member is adapted to selectively apply at least two rotary actuation motions to the pneumatically operated tool assembly supported by the distal member upon receipt of at least one pneumatic drive signal from the source of pneumatic power.

摘要： A pneumatically powered surgical cutting and fastening instrument with a mechanical linkage coupling end effector is provided to enable a surgeon to lock a distal spine portion in a desired articulated position simply by releasing a selector switch handle. An elongate shaft assembly(100) has a proximal end operably coupled to a handle assembly(300) and a distal end. A distal member is associated with the distal end of the elongate shaft assembly, and is adapted to operably support the pneumatically powered tool.
