    • PURPOSE: An image recording method and apparatus are provided to correct deviation of an image recording position without using a mechanical adjustment tool even when an error is generated in magnification of each of recording device units when an image is recorded using a recording head having the recording device units. CONSTITUTION: A recording head, which constructed in such a manner that a plurality of recording device units are arranged in a direction crossing a scanning direction, scans an image recording plane to record an image on the image recording plane using a dot pattern. Each of the recording device units includes a light source and an optical system for receiving light emitted from the light source, forming a two-dimensionally arranged light beam and condensing the light beam to the image recording plane. An image recording method calculates a variation in the position of beam spot on the image recording plane, which is generated due to a variation in the magnification of the optical system, changes light-emitting timing when scanning is initialized based on the calculated variation, and changes resolution of the direction intersecting the scanning direction based on a variation in the direction intersecting the scanning direction.

    • PURPOSE: An imaging head unit for performing a relative movement to a respective imaging surface, an imaging device having the same, and an imaging method using the same are provided to correct for scale factor differences of imaging heads in a scanning direction and implement a scale factor conversion process over the scanning direction. CONSTITUTION: In each row, the respective exposure heads which are arranged in a line, are installed to be offset by a predetermined interval in the head arrangement direction so as the band-form exposed regions(170) partially overlap with respective neighboring the exposed regions(170). A portion between the exposure area(16811) and the exposure area(16812) of the first row is exposed by the exposure area(16821) of the second row and the exposure area(16831) of the third row. At each of the exposure heads(16611-166mn), a digital micromirror device (DMD) is provided to serve as a spatial light modulation element for modulating an incident light beam at each of pixels according to image data. The DMD is connected to an unillustrated controller, which is provided with a data processing section and a mirror driving control section. At the data processing section of this controller, on the basis of inputted image data, control signals are generated for driving control of each micromirror in a region of the DMD at the corresponding exposure head which region is to be controlled.
