    • PURPOSE: A speed measuring device and a measuring method thereof are provided to improve the driving stability of a vehicle and the efficiency of train management by resolving errors due to slip generated at a powered vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A train speed measuring device(100) comprises at least one first tachometer(110) mounted at a train(200) for measuring the revolution per unit time of a wheel and outputting the measured revolution per unit time of the wheel into a pulse signal. The train speed measuring device comprises at least one second tachometer(120) measuring the revolution per unit time of the wheel and outputting the measured revolution per unit time of the wheel into the pulse signal. The train speed measuring device comprises at least one first speed measuring part(130) receiving the pulse signal from the first tachometer for measuring speed. The train speed measuring device comprises at least one second speed measuring part(140) receiving the pulse signal from the second tachometer for measuring speed. The train speed measuring device comprises a speed calculation part(150) receiving speed data from the first and second measuring parts for calculating and outputting the speed of the train.
