    • PURPOSE: A sensor module and a control method of an air conditioner using the same are provided to easily control the operation of the sensor module by receiving an electric signal from a sensor unit and converting the electric signal into a digital signal. CONSTITUTION: A sensor module comprises a sensor unit and lens units (208b). The sensor unit is composed of a first sensor (204a) and multiple second sensors (204b). The second sensors sense persons existing in an air conditioning space. The first sensor is located at the center portion of the second sensors arranged adjacent to each other. The lens units are formed on positions corresponding to the second sensors and include multiple condensing areas for amplifying the receiving sensitivity of the second sensors.

    • PURPOSE: An air-conditioner is provided, which prevents obstacles from being stuck by controlling movement of the front panel by sensing obstacles in the space. CONSTITUTION: An air-conditioner comprises a main body(110), a front panel(120), a reflecting unit(170), a sensor(160), and a controller. In order to open and close the front side of the main body, the front panel reciprocates in the front side of the main body. The reflecting unit forms a reflection path along the edge of one side of the back side of the front side of the main body and front panel. A sensor is comprised of a transmission unit(160a) and a receiver(160b). The transmission unit transmits a message signal to the reflecting unit. The receiver receives a signal reflected by the reflecting unit. The controller decides whether obstacle exists in the space between the front side of the main body and the rear of the front panel or not.
