    • PURPOSE: A battery pack, a charger, and a charging system are provided to sense and cease charging a battery if abnormality has been sensed, thereby safely charging a battery. CONSTITUTION: A battery pack(100) comprises a chargeable battery and a protection circuit which controls charge and discharge of the battery. The protection circuit comprises a micro computer which outputs operation state signal and a malfunction transfer part which notifies whether the protection circuit has malfunctioned or not to a charger(200). The charger comprises a charger terminal apparatus which charges the battery pack and an input terminal which receives information from the battery pack. An amount of current flowing in the input terminal decides whether a charging decision unit needs to be additionally included or not.
