    • PURPOSE: A battery management system, a battery polarization voltage eliminating method, and a battery charging state estimating method are provided to rapidly eliminate a polarization voltage according to charge and discharge of a battery and to accurately estimate SOC(State of Charge) of the battery. CONSTITUTION: A battery management system(220) comprises a current measurement unit(221), a charge or discharge amount calculating unit(225), a polarization voltage output unit(226), and a pulse generating unit(224). The current measurement unit samples a charge current and a discharge current of a battery. The charge or discharge amount calculating unit calculates charge or discharge amount corresponding to the difference of the sampled charge current and the sampled discharge current. The polarization voltage output unit calculates a polarization voltage corresponding to the charge or discharge amount and temperature of the battery. The pulse generating unit applies polarization voltage reset pulse for eliminating the polarization voltage in the battery.

    • PURPOSE: A battery management system and a battery SOC estimating method using the same are provided to manage a battery by estimating charge sate of a secondary battery which is able to be charged and discharged. CONSTITUTION: A unit SOC(state of charge) output unit(20) produces unit SOC by using charge and discharge current of a battery. A electromotive force SOC output unit(30) produces electromotive force SOC by using electromotive force of the battery. A correction unit(40) produces correction rate by using the electromotive force SOC and just before SOC. An SOC output unit(50) produces present SOC by combining the unit SOC, the just before SOC, and the correction rate. A sensing unit senses battery terminal voltage and the charge and discharge current of the battery. The sensing unit measures internal voltage of the battery.
