    • A line pressure control apparatus and a line pressure control method for an automatic transmission are provided to reduce shift shock by suppressing a variation of line pressure when the automatic transmission shifts during a slip control process. A first decision unit decides a shifting state of an automatic transmission(2000). A second decision unit decides whether a slip control for the lock-up clutch is executed in a decelerating state due to a releasing state of an accelerator pedal(8008). A setting unit sets line pressure as a first value higher than a second value when the first decision unit decides the shifting state of the automatic transmission. The setting unit sets the line pressure as the second value when the first decision unit decides that the automatic transmission is not the shifting state. The setting unit sets the line pressure as the second value when the second decision unit decides that the slip control is not executed in the decelerating state due to the releasing state of the accelerator pedal. The setting unit sets the line pressure as a value higher than the second value when the first decision unit decides that the automatic transmission is not in the shifting state. The setting unit sets the line pressure as the value higher than the second value when the second decision unit decides that the slip control is executed in the decelerating state due to the releasing state of the accelerator pedal.
