The vehicle recognizing system according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a camera for photographing a first image related to a plurality of objects, a memory for storing motion vector information on a vehicle among the plurality of objects, and a controller for estimating first motion vectors of the plurality of objects from motions of the plurality of objects. The controller detects a change in brightness of two arbitrary continuous images constituting the first image induced due to the motions of the plurality of objects, estimates the first motion vector using the detected brightness change, and compares the first movement vector with the stored motion vector information to recognize the vehicle among the plurality of objects.
