CONSTITUTION: On a surface specified by a set of apexes in a polygon mesh, each surface is first plotted correspondingly to the ambient light by utilizing glow shading (204) and mirror surface reflecting highlight contribution is generated on each surface correspondingly to a normal vector by utilizing an intermediate vector between a light vector and a vector directed to an observing point (218). Then a diffused color contribution is generated by using the light vector with respect to the normal vector and the mirror surface reflecting highlight contribution and diffused color contribution are integrated on the first plotted surfaces.

摘要： PURPOSE:To quickly execute processing for extracting an outline vector from picture data and reproducing the extracted vector and to obtain a fine picture. CONSTITUTION:A binary picture acquiring part 601 inputs a binarized picture in a picture memory by each stripe consisting of plural lines. Between respective stripes, prescribed lines are mutually overlapped. An outline vector extracting part 603, a smoothing/power changing part 605 and a reproducing part 607 respectively execute processing by each stripe. Respective processing parts are controlled by a control part 609 and a pipeline is formed among respective processing parts through memories. At the time of reproducing, the overlapped parts of respective stripes are cut out and a picture is reproduced.

A pallet data calculating part 2 sets the pallet entry number of a pallet part 5 at the value equal to the number of colors checked by the part 1. The part 2 also sets the pallet index value of a data part 6 at the least bit width with which the pallet index of the part 5 can be identified. An area securing part 3 secures the areas of both parts 5 and 6 which are calculated by the part 2. In such a constitution, an original image is perfectly regenerated and the storing area can be reduced for the image data having a small number of emerging colors.
