    • PURPOSE:To make mechanism efficiency ever so better, by supporting a friction ball rolling element with a rolling friction mechanism, while pressing the friction rolling element to a friction surface being locked to both input and output shafts under pressure. CONSTITUTION:Each of friction ball rolling elements 8a and 8b is supported by a thrust bearing 5 and a bearing 10 in combination, while these rolling elements 8a and 8b are pressed against each of friction surfaces 16 and 14 being locked to both input and output shafts 1 and 17 by means of a pressure spring 30 and a plate spring 6 under pressure. With this constitution, since these friction ball rolling elements 8a and 8b are eventually pressed coherent to these friction surfaces 14 and 16 through a technique of rolling friction by the bearing 10 and the thrust bearing 5, any loss due to friction is as little as negligible and, what is more, there is no loss by force, thus mechanical efficiency comes yet better as a whole.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infinitely variable transmission which enhances transmission efficiency of a frictional engagement part and can output larger torque while increase in volume and weight is constrained.
      SOLUTION: The transmission is disposed at predefined interval by a carrier 42 located between axially movable wheels 30, 32. It has a first and a second raceway surface 40a, 20b which are respectively formed on tapered end and frictionally engage on a circular engagement parts 30a, 32b of each wheel. It is provided with a plurality of rolling elements 40 which axis of rotation r through the center of the raceway surfaces is located radially inwards of the engagement part. It is also provided with a plurality of oscillating axes 44 which are pivotably secured to the carrier 42 by extending to direction orthogonal to the axis of rotation and rotatably carry each of the rolling element 40 by centering the axis of rotation r and pivotably carry the axis of rotation r relative to central axis C of the engagement parts 30a, 32b. Each of the rolling element 40 rotates the other wheel 32 in accordance with axial position of each of the wheel when both distance of engagement position Ka, Kb of the engagement parts on each of the raceway surface and the axes of rotation r are established and the rolling element is rotatably driven by one wheel 30 and the carrier 42.
