    • PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce the wear of an engaging part by transmitting the rotation of a shaft of a rotation-direction drive motor to a type holding sleeve through two studs. CONSTITUTION:Two studs 14 are fixed to a shaft 13 of a rotation direction drive motor 12 in parallel to each other. A type holding sleeve 16 is provided with through holes 16a into which linear ball bearings 18 are inserted with an appropriate clearance for allowing the vertical movement of the bearings 18 and a groove 16b into which a ball bearing 19 is inserted from outside for vertical type-selection driving with an appropriate clearance for allowing rotation. In a type-selection vertical direction, the type holding sleeve 16 moves up and down on the studs 14 by the liner ball bearings 18 in accordance with the vertical movement of the ball bearing 19. The rotation of the shaft 13 is transmitted from the studs 14 to the through holes 16a in a type-selection rotation direction. At this time, the ball bearing 19 rotates to perform a type selection in the vertical and rotation directions.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform high speed printing without moving a type simple up and down by an up-and-down driving motor, by setting the type simple so as to incline the same with respect to a platen printing line. CONSTITUTION:A left printing hammer 12 and a right printing hammer 13 are arranged in parallel to the center axis of a platen 4, that is, in a character printing direction and the left printing hammer 12 impacts on the lower stage type engraved to the circumferential outer surface of a simple 3 and the right printing hammer 13 impacts on the upper stage type of said simple 3. A colum nar pre-load roller 14, of which the rotary shaft is parallel to the rotary shaft of the platen 4, is provided so as to be contacted with the outer peripheral surface of the type simple 3 so as to be pressed to the outer peripheral surface of the type simple 3 by a pre-load spring 15. Therefore, the printing line on the platen 4 becomes parallel to the impact positions on the type simple by the right and left hammers 12, 13 and, therefore, the type and the printing line are kept always vertical.

Since all the moving coupling of the sliding part is rolling coupling, a smoothly operating type selection mechanism which can operate only by supplying oil to the ball bearing in the early period can be obtained.

When a coil 69 is put in conduction, a magnetic flux generates in a magnetic path composed of yokes 68 and 67, the rotor 62 and the armature 54, and then the armature 54 is attracted to the rotor 62 by magnetic force. When the conductive of the coil 69 is stopped, the armature 54 moved downward under its own weight and by the action of a spring 64.

When the type body 30 is exchanged and the motor 60 is turned, a position signal A and an origin signal B are each transmitted from both detecting means, and a driving control circuit turns the type body 30 up to a predetermined position by the signals and stops it.

    • PURPOSE:To quickly damp the amplitude and vibration of a type wheel within an allowable hunting with after selection thereof by a method in which a conductive disc is provided to the drive shaft of the type wheel, and an electromagnet is provided to the disc. CONSTITUTION:A conductive disc 6 is integrally attached to the drive shaft 2 between a type wheel 1 and a motor 5, and an electromagnet 7 is provided to the disc 6 so that the magnetic flux is directed to right angle to the disc 6. When the disc 6 turns, eddy current is generated in the opposite direction to the electromagnetic direction of the electromagnet 7 to serve as a braking action, whereby quickly damping the hunting action of the type wheel 1. Therefore, the time lag in the selection of type on the type wheel 1 and the stop position of type selected can be shortened. The speed-up of the printing performance of printer and the enhancement of printing alignment can thus be realized.
