    • PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of character selecting operation, in an electronic numbering apparatus equipped with a printing means applying printing to an arbitrary object by a plurality of type wheels, by controlling the rotation of the type wheel shaft of the type wheels and that of a character selecting cam shaft by independent stepping motors. CONSTITUTION:In an electronic numbering apparatus constituted of a main body 1 having a keyboard and a display device provided to the front part thereof and having a battery lid 6 for replacing a plurality of batteries 3 provided to the upper part thereof and the slide 3 of an opening part 2 showing a printing position, stepping motors 25, 26 individually driving the type wheel shaft 7 and character selecting cam shaft 21 supported on a chasis 9 are provided in the main body 1. The latch successively fixing type wheels 10 by the rotation of a character selecting cam 14 is supported by the latch shaft fixed to the chasis 9 and energized toward the character selecting cam 14 by a comb spring. The slide 3 guides the main body up and down by engaging the slide projection 34 provided to the slide 3 with the vertical groove 33 provided to the side surface of the main body 1.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the emission or reflection of a noise caused by a frame to a great extent by a method wherein one or more through holes having an approximately the same total area as the plan project area of a type drum are provided on the frame below the type drum. CONSTITUTION:A frame 1 is an integrally molded plastic body with a large through hole 1-a opened on the center bottom thereof. The through hole 1-a is disposed right below a type drum 3 and has an approximately the same total area as the plan project area of the type drum 3. In this manner, with respect to the frame 1 excited by the reaction of the shop/rotation torque of the type drum 3, a sound wave emission area is remarkably reduced. Additionally, the sound wave emitted downward from the type drum 3 excited by the stop/rotation thereof or a hammer 9 striking a type diffuses downward without reflecting through a single large hole or a large number of small holes (which are through holes) provided on the frame 1. Therefore, the emission or reflection of a noise can be reduced to a great extent.

    • PURPOSE:To improve motor stop control accuracy by issuing an action initiation command to each control mechanism so that the operation of a type selection control mechanism does not stop at the same time as the lateral feed control mechanism of a printing head part. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 1 outputs an action initiation command to a type selection control mechanism 2 and a lateral feed control mechanism 7 respectively, and receives action end information from these control mechanisms 2,7. The type selection control mechanism 2 consists of a servo circuit 3, a driver circuit 4, a motor 5 and a type wheel 6 as a load on the motor 5. The lateral feed control mechanism 7 consists of a servo circuit 8, a driver circuit 9, a motor 10 and a printing head part 13. A printing head part 13 is connected to a motor 10 through a wire rope 12 and a pulley 11. The control value of a member for control on each control mechanism represents the rotational angle of a type wheel 6 and the lateral volume of the printing head part 13. An action initiation command is issued from the control circuit 1 with a time lag so that the ends of operations do not occur simultaneously when the control mechanisms are activated.
