SOLUTION: In a single screw extruder 1 which is equipped with a screw 12 provided rotatably in a cylinder 13 and with a main shaft 21 of a speed reducing part connected directly to the screw 12 and transmitting the rotation and wherein a forming material in the cylinder 13 is extruded with the rotation of the screw 12, the main shaft 21 has hollow holes 21a and 21b and the screw 12 is inserted through the hollow holes 21a and 21b from the rear end of the main shaft 21 on the speed reducing part side opposite to the end of the main shaft 21 on the cylinder 13 side and also fitted axially to the main shaft 21 so that the rotation can be transmitted. On the occasion of extracting the screw 12, it is extracted through the hollow holes 21a and 21b from the rear end of the main shaft 21 on the speed reducing part side.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain good-quality moldings by improving the sending condition of materials, raising the dispersion of filler, and reducing the breaking loss of filler by providing a notch in the screw flight of a supply zone and a compression zone. CONSTITUTION:A screw 2 is provided in a rotatable and slidable (in the axial line) manner in a heating cylinder 1, and a supply zone 7 and a plasticizing and making zone 8 are provided orderly from the supply hole 3 side of the heating cylinder 1 to the screw 2. A notch 12 is provided in the screw flight 11 of a compression zone 10 where the depth 9 of the screw groove of the plasticizing and mixing zone 8 is varied and the supply zone 7. The area of the notch 12 is constant in the supply zone 7 and also is reduced in the compression zone 10 as the screw groove depth 9 becomes gradually shallower. The transport capacity of the screw 2 can thus be adjusted and better plasticizing and mixing can be performed.

    • PURPOSE:To perform melting without difficulty so as to prevent, the secondary flocculation of a filler and breakage, by providing grooves that are deeper than the screw groove bottom and communicate with the grooves on opposte sides of the turn of the screw flight. CONSTITUTION:A screw 1 is positioned slidably axially in a heating cylinder 9 rotatably therein, and a feeder 20 is attached to a material feeding opening 2 to control the feed of the material. The screw 1 comprises a feeding zone 3, a compression zone 4, and a metering zone 5 that are arranged from the material feeding opening 2 in the stated order. The compression zone 4 together with the metering zone 5 is called a plastisizing and kneading zone and 6. At the zone 13 from feeding zone 3 to the plastisizing zone 6, recesses 15 are formed in the screw in such a way that they transverse the screw flight 11 and are deeper than the screw groove bottom 14 thereby communicating the driving side 16 and the driven side 17 of the screw flight 11. The material is fed from the feeder 20 to the screw 1 in such a way that the screw groove 7 are not completely filled, and while the material can secure free spaces 18 where the material can move freely in the screw grooves 7, the material is moved in the feeding zone 3.
