    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive, practical and innovative underfloor wheel lathe with a simple and small entire device without requiring a moving rail.
      SOLUTION: In this underfloor wheel lathe, a wheel raising roller in-and-out part made by notching one part of a width direction of a fixing rail into a concave shape, and an edge cutting part without the fixing rail are parallely aligned on the fixing rail in a rail longitudinal direction, and a wheel raising roller part going in and out of the wheel raising roller in-and-out part and rotating the wheel while raising it, is elevatably provided below the fixing rail, and a base part moving in a width direction of the fixing rail orthogonal to at least a longitudinal direction of the fixing rail is provided below the fixing rail. A cutting blade part projecting from the edge cutting part under an inclined condition and cutting in contact with a rail contact face of the wheel, and an auxiliary rail part interposed at the edge cutting part when a vehicle passes through the edge cutting part are provided to the base part.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool rest for an underfloor wheel lathe that is improved in rigidity and mounted with a plurality of tools capable of indexing so as to ensure wheel cutting under optimal cutting conditions, chip cutting into a proper length, and smooth chip discharge. SOLUTION: The tool rest 5 comprises a tool rest body 12 disposed under a wheel 1 for movement in a Z-axis and an X-axis direction relative to the wheel, a turret 21 disposed on the tool rest body 12 for revolving indexing about an indexing axis inclined forty-five degrees against the X-axis, and provided with a plurality of tool mounting parts 20 where first and second tools 9a and 9b are mountable, and an indexing mechanism disposed between the tool rest body and the turret to revolve the turret and index desirable tools 9a and 9b in a machining position P. When the desirable tools are indexed in the machining position, the desirable tools offer cutting work on a wheel portion 7, while the tools other than the desirable ones are put in positions wherein they are kept out of interference with a drive roller 6 and the wheel.
