摘要： A dust is electrostatically charged using an ion-releasing means adapted to release only ionized air with occurrence of a corona discharge, thereby reducing the amount of power consumed and the amount of ozone generated to the utmost. An electric dust collector includes a charging section comprising a discharging electrode and an earthed electrode, a dust-collecting section comprising a voltage-applied electrode and an earthed electrode and an air feed fan. A dust introduced into the dust collector is electrostatically charged by breaking the air insulation by a corona discharge occurring in the charging section to produce ionized air and then removed in the dust-collecting section where an electric field is formed. However, because the corona discharge is generated, there is a problem that the discharged current is large, and the amount of power consumed and the amount of ozone generated are large.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized dust collector capable of collecting fine particles with a small pressure drop of air to be treated. SOLUTION: A prefilter unit 30, a coagulation unit 70, and a collection unit 50 are provided in a casing 20 of an air cleaner 10. The air to be treated with large dust removed therefrom in a prefilter 31 flows into the coagulation unit 70, wherein fine suspended particles in the air to be treated are collected on dust collection electrodes and suspended particles coagulate on the dust collection electrodes to become coagulated particles. The coagulated particles having grown up to a certain size are exfoliated from the dust collection electrodes and scatter into the air to be treated. The coagulated particles in the air to be treated are collected on a dust collection filter 51 in the collection unit 50 disposed in the downstream side of the coagulation unit 70. SOLUTION: The electric dust collecting apparatus is a united body of an ionizer part (a discharge part) 12 composed of an ionization line 15 and a counter electrode 16 and a collector part (a dust collecting part) 13 composed of a positive electrode 17 and a negative electrode 18 and capable of electrically charging dust particles container in flowing air by generating corona discharge from the ionization line to the counter electrode and catching and collecting charged dust particles based on Coulomb force by passing the flowing air between the positive electrode and the negative electrode.
