    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance heat radiation properties of a floating disc brake assembly, and to reduce the dragging thereof.SOLUTION: A disc brake assembly 8 incorporated in an automobile having a wheel 13 includes: a floating caliper 14; a brake rotor 10 having a disc 11; and a hat 12 in which the hat 12 is fixed to the wheel 13 by bolts. A hydraulic cylinder 16 presses an inner brake pad 20 against the disk 11, thereby moving the floating caliper 14 so that an outer brake pad 22 comes into contact with the disc 11. The rotor 10 is manufactured by using a material having such a thickness, a coefficient of thermal expansion, and thermal conductivity by perfect braking at 100 km/h and 0.9 vehicle gross weight, a thickness of the disc expands by at least 0.10 mm, the disk 11 is cooled off within 60 seconds after quitting the braking, and a thickness of the disc contracts by at least 0.05 mm from the expanded thickness at a temperature of 30°C or lower.
