      SOLUTION: Directing the attention to it that time-variable characteristics such as amplitudes and pitches in the waveform data obtained by live performance of musical instruments contains a variable component which is intended by players or controllable and a variable component which is not intended by the players or uncontrollable, effective and high quality control is performed by separating both the components and adjusting/controlling them independently. Concerning a specific musical sound element in an original waveform data, a series of discrete variable values is obtained, and is separated into a series of "wave" values of a large time constant and a series of "fluctuation" values of a small time constant according to time constant elements. Variable control is carried out to these independently to perform musical sound waveform synthesis.
