    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black and white heat developable photosensitive material having low fog, high sensitivity and excellent raw storage stability, and to provide an image forming method. SOLUTION: The black and white heat developable photosensitive material contains on a support a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt and a compound represented by formula (1), wherein R 101 , R 102 , R 104 and R 105 each represent H or a group substitutable on the benzene ring, R 101 and R 102 , or R 104 and R 105 may bond to each other to form a condensed ring; R 103 represents halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, alkylthio, arylthio, acylamino or sulfonylamino; and P represents a group capable of producing a phenol compound of a specific formula which functions as a development accelerator or a developing agent when the O-P bond cleaves in development, provided that P is not a group containing a nitrogen-containing aromatic group.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material having improved coated surface conditions, high sensitivity, excellent storage stability, and small environmental dependency of exposure and heat development, and to provide an image forming method using the heat developable photosensitive material. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive material has, on at least one surface of a support, an image forming layer containing a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder, wherein ≥50 mass% of the binder is a hydrophilic binder, a silver behenate content of the non-photosensitive organic silver salt is ≥50 mol%, and the heat developable photosensitive material contains at least one compound represented by a general formula as a silver carrier and contains one of a compound of which one electronic oxidant produced by one electron oxidation of the compound is capable of releasing one or more electrons and an adsorptive redox compound having an adsorption group and a reduction group.
