    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a thin plate glass or a glass substrate which is excellent in board thickness uniformity in the case of segmenting a glass base material from a float board manufactured by a float process, and heating and drawing the glass base material by a redraw method.SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing a thin plate glass, a glass base material is segmented from a float board manufactured by making molten glass flow by a float method at an angle of 90 degree in a longitudinal direction to a flowing direction of a float, and the glass base material is moved in the longitudinal direction, and heated and softened in a heating furnace, and drawn at a predetermined thickness to form a redraw strip by a redraw method so that a thin plate glass can be manufactured. A feed speed or a drawing speed is feedforward controlled on the basis of the board thickness direction in the longitudinal direction of the glass base material in the case of molding the redraw strip. The correction value of the drawing speed is calculated on the basis of the strip thickness distribution in the longitudinal direction of the molded redraw strip, and feeded back and applied to the subsequent drawing speed of the glass base material.
