    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoacoustic microscope capable of high-speed scanning, acquiring an image of a photoacoustic wave with high measurement accuracy in a short time, and easily addressing a change in observation depth.SOLUTION: A photoacoustic microscope includes: an objective lens 10 that focuses excitation light in an absorption wavelength region of an observation object into the inside of a specimen S; an optical system 27 for detection light that focuses detection light having different wavelength from that of the excitation light into a point light source image at a center part of a pupil 9 of the objective lens 10 so as to irradiate the specimen S with the detection light by the objective lens 10; optical scanning units 5a and 5b that scan the specimen S by deflecting the excitation light and the detection light made incident on the objective lens 10; and light detection units (22 to 24, and 28) that detect reflection light of the detection light reflected on the specimen S.
