    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the reliability of a heat medium heating device, by preventing a heat medium from leaking out of heat medium circulation boxes, while reducing the manufacturing cost of the heat medium circulation boxes for housing a PTC heater and also for circulating the heat medium.SOLUTION: The heat medium heating device 10 includes a first heat medium circulation box A and a second heat medium circulation box B which are fitted to both sides of the PTC heater 40, respectively, and in which heat medium circulation paths 33, 54 are formed, respectively, and which are joined liquid-tight to each other. The joint surfaces M1-M4 of the heat medium heating device are sealed with a liquid gasket. Joint surface cooling flow paths C1, C2 for cooling the joint surface M1 which is sealed with the liquid gasket and to which the heat of the PTC heater 40 is transferred are provided to the heat medium circulation paths 33, 54, respectively. The joint surface cooling flow paths C1, C2 are provided at positions nearer the joint surface M1 than the PTC heater 40.

A reinforcing part 29 for preventing deformation is provided at the periphery of the through holes 24, 25 within the inlet header section 22 and the outlet header section 23 of each of the flat heat-exchange tubes 17.
