    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spherical-zone seal body minimizing leakage of an exhaust gas through the seal body itself, improving adherence of a solid lubricant to a heat resisting material surface to form a strong covering layer on the heat resisting material surface, eliminating generation of friction abnormal noise in sliding with a mating material, and having stable sealing characteristics, and a method of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A spherical-zone substrate 33 is configured such that the hear resisting material 6 and a reinforcing material 5 are mutually compressed and intertwined to have structural integrity. An outer layer 34 is formed such that the heat resisting material 6, a solid lubricant made of a lubricant composition and the reinforcing material 5 made of wire netting are compressed, the solid lubricant and the heat resisting material 6 are charged into mesh of the wire netting of the reinforcing material 5 and the solid lubricant, the heat resisting material 6 and the reinforcing material 5 are mixed and integrated together. An outer surface 36 of the outer layer 34 is formed into a smooth surface 39 in which a surface 37 made of the reinforcing material 5 and a surface 38 made of the solid lubricant are mixed together.
