    • PURPOSE:To aim at simplifying the fabrication of a disc brake and miniaturizing thereof, by assembling members for transmitting the force of pistons to friction pads, to form the disc brake, and as well to aim at facilitating the assembly of the disc brake and enhancing the strength thereof, by forming a hook section for pressing a hold plate in a tie rod as one of the above-mentioned members. CONSTITUTION:When hydraulic pressure from a master cylinder is fed through a filling port 24M, pistons 25, 26 are moved in the opposite directions with respect to each other, so that a hold plate 21a is pressed by the end of the piston 25. Therefore, a friction pad 21 is made in press-contact with one of surfaces of a disc 20 while the end of the piston 26 presses the center section 27a of an arm 27 in the opposite direction so that a tie rod 28 is pressed in the same direction. Further a hold plate 29 is pressed against the other surface of the disc 20 while a friction pad 22 is made in press-contact with the other surface of the disc 20, resulting in braking. With this arrangement, a hook section 28b is formed in the front end part of the tie rod 28, for pressing a hold plate 29, thereby it is possible to facilitate the assembly of the disc brake and to enhance the strength thereof.

Further a hold plate 29 is pressed against the other surface of the disc 20 while a friction pad 22 is made in press-contact with the other surface of the disc 20, resulting in braking. With this arrangement, since the arm 27 and the press member 29 are connected by means of a bridge member 40, an effective reinforcement may be obtained, thereby it is possible to reduce stress, etc. exerted to the tie rod 28.

    • PURPOSE:To sufficiently reduce a bending moment which will act on a connecting bolt which connects the split pieces of a caliper body by constituting said connecting bolt as to position the bolt as near as possible toward a cylinder wall. CONSTITUTION:The caliper body 42 of a caliper 40 has a pair of halves 44 and 48 thereof oppositely joined with each other at an abutment face 50 which is parallel with a disk plate D. The halves 44 and 48 are tightly joined by use of a pair of a connecting bolt 62 and a nut 66. The head part 63 of the connecting bolt 62 is chamfered to have parallel two side faces 63A and 63A which has a sufficiently short distance therebetween. One of the two side faces is attached along the cylinder wall of a caliper cylinder 46. The distance l between the axis line L1 of the connecting bolt and the center line L2 of the caliper cylinder 46 is therefore made short as far as possible so that the bending moment will act on the connecting bolt 62 can be reduced.

A minute gap DELTAX is provided between the end face of the first stopping projection 20a and the groove bottom of the recess groove 6b. The second stopping projection 20b is projecting from the body part of the holding board 20 in such a way that it turns aside from the bridge part 11a of a caliper body 11, and a hanger pin 23 passes through the opening 20c formed in the stopping projection 20b.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a noise from being easily generated when a brake is applied, by swivellably mounting a pressing piece to a shaft inserted into the end of an arm part of a caliper and constituting pads, positioned in both sides of a rotor, to be pressed toward the rotor by the end face of a piston built in the main unit part of the caliper and the internal side face of the pressing piece. CONSTITUTION:An arm part 4c is formed on the upper of a main unit part 4b of a caliper 4 having a built-in piston 5 retractably actuated by supply and discharge of pressure oil. The center part of a pressing plate 8 is supported by a bolt 7 to the end of said arm part 4c. Consequently, pads 3, 3, positioned in both sides of a rotor 1 and respectively supported by supports 2, can be pressed to side faces of the rotor 1 by the end face of the piston 5 and the internal side face 8a of the pressing plate 8. While even in a case when the side face of the rotor 1 comes to be not in parallel to the internal side face of the pressing plate 8, this pressing plate 8, being swivelled around the bolt 7 serving as the center, always presses a lining of the pad 3 fully throughout its surface with uniform force to the side face of the rotor 1.
