    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner which is hardly limited in a position of an inlet in a housing, and high in a freedom of a layout.SOLUTION: An air cleaner 10 comprises a housing 11 having an inlet 17 and an outlet 18, and a filter element 21 which is formed by pleating a sheet-shaped filter material 22 and arranged in the housing 11. A wall of the housing 11 has a first opposing wall 12 and a second opposing wall 13 which oppose each other at both sides with respect to a direction along a ridge line L1 of the pleat of the filter element 21. In the housing 11 and between the inlet 17 and the outlet 21, there is arranged a guide piece 25 which extends at least along the ridge line L1, forms a clearance 26 between the second opposing wall 13 and itself, and introduces air which has passed the clearance 26 to the first opposing wall 12 side.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chamber air cleaner that efficiently uses a restricted space of an engine compartment, increases the amount of the air supplied to an engine, and reduces the noise, and to provide an intake device for the engine including the chamber air cleaner.SOLUTION: This intake device for the engine includes a duct, a main air cleaner, an air hose for supplying, to the engine, the air having passed the main air cleaner, and the chamber air cleaner. The chamber air cleaner includes a chamber housing, a suction duct to which external air is supplied, a filter element for purifying the air made to flow in via the suction duct, and a variable valve for opening and closing the suction duct. The variable valve is closed to prevent the inflow of the air in a low speed region, or is opened to allow the inflow of the air in a high speed region.
